Apple Sues HTC for Patent Infringement CUPERTINO, California—March 2, 2010—Apple® today filed a lawsuit against HTC for infringing on 20 Apple patents related to the iPhone’s user interface, underlying architecture and hardware. The lawsuit was filed concurrently with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and in U.S. District Court in Delaware.
Today WaridTel’s CEO Mr. Bashir Tahir announced publicly in a press release that WaridTel is not for sale. Since many months there was a rumor in the market that WaridTel is going to be sold to any of the existing mobile operator in Pakistan because of its low efficiency. Today the CEO of WaridTel denied this and further added that WaridTel is still looking forward for the expansion of its network throughout Pakistan.
PTCL today launched a new offer during the basant season in the country to Cheer up the people of the country and spread happiness. PTCL has offered 50% discounted rates in the off-peak hours and on Sundays during the month of February. The offer is valid for all the on-Net calls and the nationwide calls on the PTCL network only.

Telenor is currently giving this handset to their Persona Family customers only. Telenor is starting the sale of this handset from February 2010, but the booking is on so that you can get the handset at the start of this February.

PTA Released QoS Report of All Mobile Operators in Pakistan

Pakistan Telecom Association (PTA) has released a report on all the mobile operators in Pakistan including Mobilink, Ufone, Telenor, WaridTel, CMPak (Zong). In this report PTA conducted a quality of service test on all the networks in different cities of Pakistan and with different aspects. After checking the report, I am still not able to figure out that which mobile service is the best in Pakistan. Ufone is covering the most areas in cities (average score of 98.84%). Whereas, Mobilink ranks on top in voice quality service (average score 2.32). On an overall average that I calculated, Mobilink is the best service in Pakistan with average score of 97.57% in area wise coverage, 97.8% in maintainability and 2.32/3.00 in voice quality. Following is the summary of the report.

Mobilink today introduced Jazz Sim Lagao Offer for all those customers who have not used their mobilink jazz sim for outgoing or incoming calls or sms since November 8th, 2009. On putting their sim back they will be given 50free minutes initially and then 100minutes free will be given for next three months. Maximum of 100 free minutes will be given to the users.
